Want to join the pack? Just here to learn more about what you could do? Either way, you've found the right place! Here we've listed some of what members can do.
Of course, anyone can have multiple roles, and you don't have to stick to just one! We are an adaptable team and are always interested to see what everyone has to offer!
Builders are typically responsible for putting together and designing the robot. This means working with team members to find an innovative way to solve the season's goal and ultimately bringing those ideas to life, using the parts and supplies we have. Robot designs can be purely for efficiency and functionality, or can be functional and playful as well.

Notebook Managers make sure the notebook is up-to-date and in order. Everyone contributes by writing about what goes on during class, plans, challenges, etc. All good and bad things should be recorded. These people are also in charge of making sure all the notebook requirements are complete, following FTC rules. Photos are included also.

Although this may not be as fun as some of the other roles, organizing and cleaning are both important. This role is usually taken on by most, if not all, members of the team. Keeping a well-cleaned and organized area can make parts easier to find and quicker to work with, so you don't have to spend 27 minutes finding that specifically-sized screw. It is best done while playing some jams towards the end of every work session.
We take photos and videos when we can, but to do this we need people to run the cameras! People can use their phones to take pictures/videos during class or outreach events. The photos will go in the notebook while the videos will be edited (if needed) and uploaded to our YouTube channel. Video Editors will cut clips, add music, and add effects if desired. Photos and videos must be shown to other team members before being shown or uploaded.
Programmers are the brains behind the 'heart' and 'brain' of the robot. They make sure that everything the robot does is precise. They also make the robot come to life through movements needed to accomplish goals, in both Tele-Op and Autonomous modes. Want your robot to move fast like a cheetah or even growl like one? Leave it to the programmers. Want to play a prank on your next driver by reversing the controls? Leave it to the programmers.
While this may not be quite as obvious as Robot Driving, this one is fairly simple; not to mention anyone can do it! The Coach works with the driver(s) to figure out what should be done in a match, and generally starts the phones before a match begins (although Drivers can too). If something isn't quite working right or doesn't go as planned, you need to improvise and work something out if possible. While drivers are, well, driving, the coach can also talk to our alliance team's coach to make sure the game plan is going smoothly. If you all know what you're doing, then encourage the teams to keep doing a good job!
Robot Drivers control the robot. They maneuver the robot using a gaming controller in the direction they want it to go during Tele-Op mode, Endgame, and any testing. It takes time to master the controls, especially with multiple things that need controlled at once, such as wheels, a claw, and additional servos. In these cases, we like to have two drivers on two separate controllers to make it easier and to hopefully ease off some pressure. If you have problems with the controls or want something changed, leave it to the Programmers.
